-------------Ico For the Sony PS2 Released Sept. 24, 2001------------

Format: DVD Pal 50hz & Ntsc 60hz selector (Game will flicker select language then pal(50hz)or ntsc(60hz) and flickering will stop.)

For english just press x on the first startup screen, then choose pal-left or
ntsc-right for your pal or ntsc ps2 console. You'll know when you choose the right
one cause the screen will stop rolling.

Lang.: Multi - English included
Discs: 1
Image: ISO
Requirements: Modded/Chipped ps2, or Swap Magic disc method.

(You could try the homebrew exploit to (Free Mc Boot - Also known as soft modding for ps2), if your ps2 system isn't hard modded with a chip or if Swap Magic isn't working as a last resort. There are ps2 emulators but its not 100% & the quality isn't as good as playing your game on your ps2 console.)

If your using swap magic and don't have a flip top, you'll need to first
remove the front cover of the disc tray for use of the slide card.

Here's a link for how to remove the front cover...

And here's some links on using the slide tool to open the tray to swap in your ps2 copy or backup game.

Those that don't have a modded Ps2 Here's a few links for Free MC Boot & how to use it to soft mod your ps2 so you can be able to play burned games. Free Mc Boot won't work on newer models of ps2 you'll have to use an older version the tutorial explains this.

You will also need to patch the iso (the PS2 game) with ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a if your using free mc boot with ESR Elf to boot your p2 copies or backups (No-swapping required for esr method).

After patching burn the iso with Imgburn or Dvd Decrypter to respectable media
then use the ESR through fmcb after you installed everything to boot your game.

You will still need to use the proper media for the game to run or load properly regardless if your using fmcb, a modded ps2, or swap magic. Try Verbatim DVD+R (Booktype to DVD-ROM), or Tayio Yuden, burn at 8x if its a 16x max. You really can't use Maxell DVD+R for example or some other brand as it more than likely will not work.

Note: If fmcb isn't working and your Ps2 isn't Modded, Try Swap Magic to load the game.

Compressed with Winrar.

Note -- There are several working versions of this game already on the pirate bay, but I wanted to upload mine.

This game is the dvd version not cd (not usa version), But has pal/ntsc selector and english language too so you can still play it. Game was Tested & works, Burn as you would with any other ps2 game, Use DVD Decrypter.

Game Description:

Ico....Within a world of enchantment and wonder, evil resides in an ancient castle. Ico, a young boy born with horns, has been expelled from his village and left within this isolated fortress. Embarking on a perilous quest to save himself as well as a beautiful princess, Ico must find a way to escape. However, escaping will be no easy task. Every towering staircase and stone block is a piece of a puzzle. Every open window, dangling chain and razor thin escape illuminates another mystery.

Thanks a bunch dude! Been lookin for this one for a long time! First found the CD version but that did not work with my Memor32.

Lets hope this one does. Thanks alot!
Man,thanks a lot!

This game will work in a ps2 with the matrix chip?
how come this is the dvd version? it is only 669.26 MB..
You guys and anyone else downloading this need to seed don't just leech, I can't seed all the time.
This is the dvd version from uk which made the original ps2 game, this version has a pal/nstc in-game option selector that was also implemented but is the same excact game as the usa version just dvd instead of a ps2 cd game.
If any one finds the game crashes or is corrupt post a comment, sometimes ps2 games will crash anyways this is normal but if it is constant, then let us know. Test it out. Should work though.
Well I tested Ico out and it works fine just use verbatim (if dvd+R booktype to dvd-rom)

Enjoy.
THANK YOU! I've been praying to find a decent dvd version of this game. :D I'll seed for a looooong time!
doesnt work with the emulator, is it just for the ps2 console. shouldnt it work for both?
Does anyone know if this is possible to play on a PS3 80GB?
@ frodane: I don't think it's possible to play PS2 backups on a PS3 yet. Give it some time.

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the NTSC and PAL versions of this game?
Doesn't play on my slim PS2 using Swap Magic. Complete waste of time and bandwidth.
the game is awesome it lookes like shadow of the colossus :)
To address everything at once: Rodrot; you need to convert it to .bin format, Geografija; that's because it's made by the same people. And me: does this version contain the PAL exclusive extras like the lightsaber?
I have confirmed that this is the PAL version of the game (that's the one you want, trust me) with an NTSC output. There are several added bonuses in this version like: Yorda's speech translated, 2P option, alternate ending, and the famous "lightsaber"
Good stuff. This works excellent despite using shitty Memorex DVD-R media. Thanks a ton. :)
converted to bin format as suggested with magic iso. Burned to dvd+r and still does not play on my slim ps2 using swap magic. Any other suggestions before I give up on this one?
Finally figured out what the problem was. I changed the connection on my flatscreen from component to the older composite connection and the game plays perfectly. Can anyone explain?
I have the pal/ntsc version that is also a DVD version. The title is ICO Limited Edition (PAL). For some reason when I play it with ESR on my PS2 it seems to freeze when it switches to cut scene. Do you know if this one does the same? Also the file I have its something like 888MiB, do you know if the limited edition has any major differences from this version you posted.
hey im trying to use this on the pcsx2 emulator but when i try its just a black screen, any help?
wow thanks a lot...
be seeding this for a while
THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Ok so I downloaed this - ran it through patcher - burned to a TDK DVD+R (my DVD writer can't do booktype) and ESR reads it as a valid PS2 disc - like it is supposted to - but ESR flashes between color - and then I just get a black screen with my TV acting like it just lost the video feed.

I also patched it - then ran it thru a PAL to NTSC software - ESR reads it fine but then it flashes and black screen comes on

I have 2 more games that I downloaded both were NTSC and I patched both and burnt to my Verbatim DVD+R that I had (ran out) and again they were not DVD-ROM booktype - and both games run fine, so either these TDK DVD+R are crap or this file needs to be NTSC and nothing else.
seed plz
Won't work ! I just downloaded it and it did not work!

has this worked for anyone on PCX2 emulator on PC?
Perfeito!
I just downloaded the game and played for about half an hour. Burned it to Verbatim DVD-R used Swap Magic, loaded as NTSC and it worked perfectly!
I searched around a little bit and found that this specific copy of the game wont load using FreeMcboot, as it's 'region specific' therefore it has to be loaded on your specific region. (If your in Europe Pal, North America and Japan NTSC), using Swap Magic.
I tried to load it with Mcboot, (After patching it and all) but all I got was a jittery screen. Best option is to either download the CD NTSC version of the game and burn it to an actual CD, then use Swap Magic CD (free mcboot doesn't load from CD's) to play it. Or Download this version burn it to a DVD and use Swap Magic DVD loading it as NTSC. :D
Not trying to be rude or anything, just informative. ;)
I love you man
